Spain Weather Datasets for SWAT

These datasets are provided for your convenient usage and reference.  Kindly check the accuracy of these datasets for your area of interest before its usage. Datasets include:

  • Peninsular Spain weather generator database. Contains monthly weather data covering Peninsular Spain that can be used with SWAT (zipped mdb file) and SWAT+ (zipped sqlite file). Monthly statistics were obtained from the period 1979-2013 using rainfall data from AEMET (Peral-García et al., 2017), temperature data from SPAIN02 (Herrera et al., 2012), and relative humidity, solar radiation and wind speed from CFSR (Saha et al., 2010).
  • AEMET daily rainfall data in ready-to-use SWAT format from 1951 to 2018 with a resolution of 5 km.
  • SPAIN02 daily temperature data in ready-to-use SWAT format from 1950 to 2015 with a resolution of 5 km.
    • Temperature data is in 3 parts; each .rar file is ~1.3 GB. Download: part 1, part 2, part 3
