2017 SWAT Conference in Selangor, Malaysia

What

The conference, co-organized by Malaysian Society of Soil Science (MSSS) in collaboration with the SWAT Network of Malaysia, will provides an opportunity for professionals as hydrologists, geologists, engineers, scientists, geographers, graduate and post-graduate students, and for other interested individuals to meet and exchange ideas, to summarize results of studies and to discuss mutual problems, to gather and share information about latest innovations developed for SWAT and to discuss challenges that still need to be resolved.

Besides the conference there will be a highly practical SWAT workshop, comprising four parallel courses, open to professionals, graduate and post-graduate students, who use or wish to use SWAT in order to investigate hydrologic and water quality issues in watersheds and rivers.

Registration

The registration fee for conference participants includes the Program & Abstracts book, certificate, flash drive containing the abstracts, lunches and coffee breaks for 24 - 25 October, 2017 and excursion on 26 October, 2017. Additional fees for workshop will cover training materials and QSWAT software.

After the deadline (September 1) the registration fee will be RM200 (USD50) higher per person.

Call for papers

Please contact swatseea2017@gmail.com if you need a notice of acceptance letter.

In conjunction with the SWAT2017 theme, papers of relevant topics within the conference theme are invited for oral/poster presentations. Authors are requested to submit an extended abstract not exceeding four (4) pages in English.

The extended abstract must include the title, author(s) introduction, material and methods, results and discussion, conclusion and references. Manuscript should be prepared on an A4-sized paper with 25 mm margins on all sides, and typed with single spacing using size 12 Times New Roman font. All illustrations must be prepared inside of the main text. Selected papers will be published in the special issue of the Malaysian Journal of Soil Science (MJSS).

Visa Information

Every person entering Malaysia must possess a valid national passport or internationally recognized travel document valid for travel to Malaysia.

Any person not in possession of a passport or travel document that is recognised by the Malaysian Government must obtain a document in lieu of passport. Application for the document in lieu of passport can be made at any Malaysian Representative Office abroad. Holders of travel documents like a Certificate of Identity, Laisser Passer, Titre de Voyage or a Country's Certificate of Permanent Residence must ensure that their return to the country that issued the document or the country of residence is guaranteed. The documents shall be valid, for more than six (6) months from the date of entry into Malaysia.

Foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia must apply and obtain a visa in advance at any Malaysian Representative Office abroad before entering the country.
